U.S. 73 (K-7) and Parallel Parkway Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) in Wyandotte County

Project Description

KDOT is constructing a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) at the intersection of U.S. 73 (K-7) and Parallel Parkway in Wyandotte County. The RCUT design will restrict left turns and through movements at the minor road, Parallel Parkway, to improve safety and intersection operations. The redesigned intersection will direct traffic from Parallel Parkway to turn right onto the highway and then make a U-turn at a designated median opening.

Project construction began in September 2022, paused for the winter shutdown period, and is scheduled to resume in March 2023 with anticipated completion in January 2024.
